Red village, Machineweg – Aalsmeer – Netherlands

In the local community this cluster of buildings, build in the 1920th is called the “Red Village” because of the red roof tiles. The owner, a social buildings project company will demolish these buildings to make way for new housing.
With the destruction of the Red Village a characteristic piece of Aalsmeer will disappear.

I documented the upcoming end of the houses. In my previous shown photo installation the inhabitants of the houses and historical images were exhibited as well.
